Can I bring my pet to the farm?

We love animals, but unfortunately we cannot allow visitors to bring their pets to the farm or stand. We also ask that you not leave them in your car on hot days.

Can I have a professional photo shoot at the farm?

If you are interested in having professional photos taken on our farm, please reach out to photographer, Karen Alquist. She is the only professional photographer who’s photo shoots are permitted on our farm. Karen’s lifestyle photography is stunning and timeless. Click here to check out her work.

Casual snapshots of your experience at the farm are welcome at any time and encouraged! (Tag us @scotts_farms)

Can I pick into a container I bring from home?

How does cut your own flowers work?

How do you treat your crops?

Currently we allow and encourage folks to bring their own containers to pick their own fruits on our farm. If you do so, you MUST bring them to the register BEFORE picking to have them weighed. The weight of your container will be subtracted from the total cost of your fruit when you check out.

Cut your own flowers at our Essex stand begins in mid to late July and remains open until frost. The flowers in our cutting garden are sold by the pound. You may bring your own clippers or borrow a pair of ours. We do not provide buckets but you may bring your own and have us fill them with fresh water for you. (This is recommended as the flowers can wilt quickly in the summer heat!) We ask that you not strip your flowers until after you’ve paid. Cut your own flowers is a great and cost effective choice for wedding flowers, showers or parties, or just beautifying your home!

We are a conventional farm, but use IPM for sustainable pest management. IPM (integrated pest management) is a way for us to selectively target pests that are a threat to our crops and use minimal and ethical ways to manage them. As often as possible we will use biological controls and natural enemies as a means to protect our plants, fruits and vegetables. For more information on IPM, click here.
